12:03 PM EST, 02/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, in his new role as acting head of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, has ordered the agency to stop all rulemaking, communications, litigation, and other activities, Bloomberg Law reported Monday, citing an email to staff it obtained.

The CFPB did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
