Market Chatter: Trump Confirms Nvidia Will Pay 15% of Chinese H20 Chip Sales to US
Aug 11, 2025 9:46 AM

12:27 PM EDT, 08/11/2025 (MT Newswires) -- President Donald Trump said Nvidia ( NVDA ) will pay 15% of its Chinese H20 chip sales to the US government, Bloomberg News reported Monday, citing his comments to reporters at the White House.

Trump said Nvidia ( NVDA ) Chief Executive Jensen Huang negotiated a deal down to 15% from the 20% Trump requested. The goal of the deal is to get US export licenses, according to the report.

The confirmation follows multiple news reports on Sunday about the arrangement.

"We follow rules the US government sets for our participation in worldwide markets," an Nvidia ( NVDA ) spokesperson told MT Newswires earlier. "While we haven't shipped H20 to China for months, we hope export control rules will let America compete in China and worldwide."
