03:21 PM EDT, 09/13/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Turkey has sought US approval to acquire GE Aerospace's (GE) F404 engines for its domestically produced Hurjet military jets, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing Turkish officials familiar with the matter.
Turkey intends to utilize TEI, a venture between GE Aerospace and state-owned Turkish Aerospace for the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of F404 engines, as well as for assembly, inspection and testing in Turkey, the report said, citing a GE Aerospace spokesperson.
GE Aerospace didn't immediately respond a request for comment from MT Newswires.
GE Aerospace's shares rose 4.7% in recent trading Friday.
