12:14 PM EDT, 03/25/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Tyson Foods ( TSN ) faces a shareholder lawsuit seeking internal company documents for alleged use of illegal child labor at its plants, Bloomberg News reported Monday, citing court documents.

The lawsuit was filed in Delaware's Chancery Court on March 22 over concerns that the company is ignoring exploitation of children placed by subcontractors in hazardous jobs, according to the report.

Tyson Foods' ( TSN ) shareholders previously rejected a proposal for an independent audit of the company's policies on child labor prevention in the annual meeting on Feb. 8.

Tyson did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
