Market Chatter: UBS Loses $440 Million Claim Against SoftBank in London Ruling
Oct 15, 2025 6:00 AM

08:27 AM EDT, 10/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- UBS Group ( UBS ) has lost a $440 million claim against Japan's SoftBank related to the collapse of Greensill Capital in 2021, the Financial Times reported Wednesday.

The report said the London High Court dismissed the claim, stating that SoftBank held a stake in Greensill Capital but did not orchestrate the soured investments that Credit Suisse, now part of UBS, made with Greensill.

UBS acknowledged the Court's decision and said it is "reviewing the judgment and evaluating next steps," according to the report.

UBS didn't immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
