05:07 PM EDT, 04/05/2024 (MT Newswires) -- United Airlines (UAL) canceled a May 1 investor meeting amid recent safety concerns and probably will reschedule the event for the autumn, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing a company email to investors and industry analysts.
The company called off the meeting while facing a US Federal Aviation Administration review of its safety procedures, Bloomberg said.
"Our entire team is focused on cooperating with the FAA to review our safety protocols and it would simply send the wrong message to our team to have an exciting investor day focused primarily on financial results," United's investor relations department said in the email sent Friday, according to the report.
The company did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
Shares of the company fell 1.8% in recent after-hours trading.
