08:27 AM EST, 12/02/2024 (MT Newswires) -- United Parcel Service ( UPS ) , FedEx ( FDX ) and other delivery companies are poised for on-time holiday gift delivery, barring any severe winter storms, Reuters reported Monday, citing shipping consultancy ShipMatrix.
"As long as the weather holds up and people are able to go to stores, the parcel carriers should have no trouble handling the volume," Satish Jindel, founder of ShipMatrix, was quoted saying in the report.
Package carriers are prepared to handle 120 million parcels per day during this year's holiday rush, while demand is estimated to be just 106 million a day, the report said.
UPS and FedEx ( FDX ) did not immediately replied to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
