06:55 AM EDT, 09/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- UnitedHealth ( UNH ) is reportedly hiring allies of President Donald Trump and seeking to establish close ties with the White House as it faces changes in federal payments and an investigation into its Medicare billing practices, according to a report by The Wall Street Journal on Monday.

The report stated that the company has secured meetings with senior Justice Department officials, White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles, and the official overseeing Medicare.

Citing company disclosures, UnitedHealth ( UNH ) reportedly spent more money on lobbying in H1 2025 than it ever has in a comparable period, including on lobbyists and lawyers with ties to the Trump administration.

UnitedHealth ( UNH ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.

Shares of the company were up 1.4% in recent premarket activity.
