07:42 AM EDT, 06/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- UnitedHealth Group ( UNH ) is considering several bids for its Latin American operations, Reuters reported Monday, citing two people with direct knowledge of the matter.
The health insurer has four nonbinding bids for the Banmedica business for roughly $1 billion, the unnamed sources told the news agency, adding that a deadline for binding proposals is expected to be set as soon next month.
Bidders include private-equity firms Acon Investments and Patria Investments, Texas non-profit health firm Christus Health, and healthcare and insurance provider Auna, according to the report. Auna is in discussions with a financial partner, Reuters reported, citing a source.
UnitedHealth ( UNH ) and the four groups interested in Banmedica did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
