09:50 AM EDT, 08/27/2025 (MT Newswires) -- United Parcel Service ( UPS ) has outsourced its weather forecasting operations to The Weather Company, owner of The Weather Channel, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.

The company had earlier employed five full-time meteorologists at its Louisville hub to track weather and guide route planning for deliveries, the report said.

UPS has also shifted technology support functions to third-party vendors in efforts to cut costs and streamline operations, the report said.

UPS and The Weather Company did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
