07:29 AM EDT, 07/09/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The US Army is gearing up to spend more than $1.3 billion on Patriot missiles in fiscal 2026, beginning Oct. 1, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, quoting US budget documents.
A senior Army panel increased the planned acquisition of the Patriot Advanced Capability-3 Missile Segment Enhancement interceptors from 3,376 to 13,773 units -- a nearly fourfold rise aimed at addressing growing operational demands, the report said.
The Patriot Advanced Capability-3 Missile Segment Enhancement made by Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) can intercept drones, cruise missiles, and tactical ballistic missiles, with solid rocket motor supplied by L3Harris Tech ( LHX ) , the report said.
Lockheed Martin ( LMT ) and L3Harris ( LHX ) didn't immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
