10:49 AM EDT, 04/07/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Ford Motor ( F ) , General Motors ( GM ) , Stellantis ( STLA ) , and other automakers could be impacted by a potential 1.8 million drop in vehicle sales in North America this year, Reuters reported Monday, citing a forecast from Telemetry.
If current tariffs remain in place through 2035, sales of light-duty vehicles in the US and Canada could be reduced by around 7 million units compared with a scenario of no trade conflicts and strong economic growth, according to the report.
Telemetry also projected global battery electric vehicle sales to reach 40.5 million units in a decade, Reuters said.
Ford, General Motors ( GM ), and Stellantis ( STLA ) did not immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
