06:53 AM EDT, 07/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- The US Justice Department has made significant progress in finalizing a plea agreement with Boeing ( BA ) , Reuters reported late Thursday, citing the agency.

The report said the DOJ plans to file a factual statement supporting its breach determination with the plea deal. Originally expected to be filed by Friday, the filing is now expected to be completed by July 24.

Boeing ( BA ) had agreed earlier in the month to plead guilty to a criminal fraud conspiracy charge and pay a $243.6 million fine after the Justice Department found it had violated a deferred prosecution agreement from 2021, Reuters reported.

Boeing ( BA ) has not immediately responded to MT Newswires' request for comment.
