12:23 PM EDT, 09/04/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The US Federal Trade Commission is planning to scrutinize the impact of artificial intelligence on the mental health of children and will seek documents from Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed (MSFT) OpenAI, Meta Platforms ( META ) , and other chatbot operators, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, citing administration officials.

The FTC is expected to evaluate whether ChatGPT and other chatbots are negatively affecting children, the report said.

The antitrust regulator, OpenAI and Meta did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comment.
