06:35 AM EDT, 09/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Boeing ( BA ) could get purchase commitments from China for more of its aircraft under a deal raised by a group of US lawmakers with top Chinese leaders during their visit to the Asian country, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing Adam Smith, a US Democratic Representative.
"It's been a while since Boeing ( BA ) airplanes have been sold here in China," Smith reportedly said. "We'd like to get that deal done."
Negotiations between the parties have entered their last days or weeks, Reuters reported, citing US Ambassador to China David Purdue.
Bloomberg recently reported that the US planemaker was in talks to sell up to 500 aircraft to China.
Boeing ( BA ) didn't immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
