Market Chatter: US Military Strikes Iran for Second Straight Day
Jun 10, 2026 3:54 PM

06:40 PM EDT, 06/10/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The US military launched strikes against multiple targets in Iran for a second consecutive day, with US Central Command saying attacks began at 5:15 p.m. New York time Wednesday, Bloomberg reported Wednesday.

The strikes followed Tuesday's attacks in retaliation for the downing of a US Apache helicopter.

President Donald Trump told reporters the US would hit Iran "very hard," while Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the strikes were aimed at pushing Iran toward a deal.

Iran's Foreign Ministry accused the US of targeting civilian infrastructure, Bloomberg said.

A White House official said talks were continuing but the US would maintain maximum pressure until an agreement is reached. A Qatari delegation arrived in Tehran on Wednesday to discuss the diplomatic process, according to Iran's semi-official Students' News Agency, the report said.

The Strait of Hormuz remains largely closed despite US efforts to ease Iran's chokehold on the waterway, Bloomberg reported.
