Market Chatter: US Senator Tammy Duckworth Urges Aviation Regulator to Ensure Accountability in Boeing Quality
Jun 4, 2024 5:28 AM

08:02 AM EDT, 06/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- A US senator overseeing aviation issues urged the Federal Aviation Administration to enforce transparency and accountability in Boeing's ( BA ) quality improvement initiatives, Reuters reported late Monday.

"Boeing's ( BA ) safety and quality assurances will be meaningless without appropriate transparency and accountability," Senator Tammy Duckworth said, according to Reuters.

The call comes amid Boeing's ( BA ) recent submission of a comprehensive quality improvement plan to the FAA, with a 90-day deadline starting in late February to develop a plan to address systemic quality-control issues.

The FAA and Boeing ( BA ) did not immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
