12:30 PM EDT, 07/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- A coalition of US solar panel manufacturers, including First Solar ( FSLR ) , asked the Commerce Department to impose antidumping and countervailing duties on imports from Indonesia, India, and Laos, Reuters reported Thursday, citing documents on an agency website.
The petition, filed by the Alliance for American Solar Manufacturing and Trade, claims producers in these countries are selling solar products in the US at unfairly low prices, undercutting domestic manufacturers, the report said.
"Vigorous enforcement of our trade laws is critical to the success of this industry," said Tim Brightbill, lead attorney for the petitioners, according to the report.
First Solar ( FSLR ) didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
Shares of First Solar ( FSLR ) rose 4% in recent Thursday trading.
