06:39 AM EDT, 09/30/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Verizon Communications ( VZ ) is in talks to buy some of EchoStar's ( SATS ) wireless spectrum, Bloomberg reported late Monday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The discussions involve EchoStar's ( SATS ) AWS-3 licenses, valuable for carrying 5G wireless signals, the report said. The AWS-3 spectrum has a "carrying amount" of $9.8 billion, the report said, citing an EchoStar ( SATS ) regulatory filing.

This comes after EchoStar ( SATS ) began selling some of its assets last month to settle a US Federal Communications Commission inquiry of whether the company was rolling out its wireless service fast enough, the report said.

Verizon and EchoStar ( SATS ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment on the matter.

EchoStar ( SATS ) shares were up more than 6% in recent Tuesday premarket activity.
