Market Chatter: Verizon to Slash About 15,000 Jobs

11:11 AM EST, 11/13/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Verizon Communications ( VZ ) intends to reduce its workforce by about 15,000 jobs, the largest number of cuts ever implemented by the carrier, The Wall Street Journal reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.

Verizon also plans to transition around 200 stores into franchised operations and, in so doing, shift workers at those locations off of its payroll, according to the report.

Verizon didn't immediately reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
