07:19 AM EDT, 05/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- VinFast (VFS) is planning to further delay its plan to build a $4 billion factory in North Carolina, Reuters reported Wednesday, citing an unnamed source.

The completion of the project was previously postponed to 2025 from the initial target of July 2024. The company is currently mulling another delay, the report said.

VinFast reportedly told Reuters that it is "conducting a thorough review and evaluation of all aspects of the construction process for our North Carolina factory."

The Vietnamese EV maker did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
