Market Chatter: Walgreens, Brand Management Firms Eyeing Rite Aid Assets

02:13 PM EDT, 06/10/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Walgreens Boots Alliance ( WBA ) is assessing the remaining assets of drugstore chain Rite Aid, which filed for bankruptcy in May, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing two people familiar with the matter.

Authentic Brands Group, WHP Global and Marquee Brands have evaluated Rite Aid's intellectual property and potentially its loyalty program, the report said.

Rite Aid, Walgreens, Authentic Brands and WHP declined to comment, and Marquee Brands didn't respond to a request for comment, Reuters said.

Walgreens didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
