12:44 PM EDT, 03/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Walmart ( WMT ) is among retailers piloting a new drone delivery technology from a startup called DroneUp, Axios reported Tuesday.

Walmart ( WMT ) has a stake in the drone company, which plans to set up an autonomous drone ecosystem for last-mile delivery in select markets starting this year, Axios said.

Chick-fil-A and 7-Eleven also will be piloting the new technology, Axios said.

Walmart ( WMT ) did not immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
