Market Chatter: Walmart Pilots 'Dark Stores' to Speed up Delivery

06:08 AM EDT, 06/25/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Walmart ( WMT ) is piloting "dark stores," which look like retail stores but are closed to the public, in a bid to accelerate deliveries, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday, citing people with knowledge of the matter.

The retail giant has opened a dark store in Dallas and intends to add another in Bentonville, Arkansas, the unnamed sources told the news outlet. Additional locations are also under consideration, according to the report.

Walmart ( WMT ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires request for comment.
