03:59 PM EDT, 05/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Walmart ( WMT ) experienced an internal system failure in March that halted price data transmission to self-checkout stands, Bloomberg reported Wednesday, citing company documents.

The mispricing affected 1,600 stores on March 19 and the company's staff were still trying to fix the issue two days after the incident, according to the report.

The company eventually resolved the technical issue and reimbursed more than 80% of customers that were overcharged, Walmart ( WMT ) spokesperson Mischa Dunton reportedly told Bloomberg.

Walmart ( WMT ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
