04:39 AM EDT, 09/23/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Walmart ( WMT )-backed (WMT) Flipkart India is investing $30 million in its Supermoney financial technology subsidiary, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The move is part of a strategy by the Indian online retailer to expand into lending and brokerage businesses and follows the $20 million it invested in Supermoney in 2024, the unnamed sources told the news outlet.
In 2018, Walmart ( WMT ) reportedly agreed to pay roughly $16 billion to take control of Flipkart.
Flipkart didn't immediately reply to MT Newswires' request for comment.
