04:59 AM EST, 11/04/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Walt Disney ( DIS ) is putting together a new group that will explore the uses of new technologies, such as artificial intelligence, across film, television and theme parks, Reuters reported Friday.
The film studio's chief technology officer Jamie Voris will lead the newly formed Office of Technology Enablement, Reuters said, citing a memo from Disney Entertainment Co-Chairman Alan Bergman.
While the unit will focus on emerging technologies like AI and mixed reality, it is designed to ensure that related projects fit with the company's broader strategy instead of centralizing work on these projects, the report said.
The Office of Technology Enablement is expected to have up to 100 employees, the report said, citing a person familiar with the matter.
Disney ( DIS ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
