03:16 PM EDT, 03/14/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Walt Disney ( DIS ) is in preliminary talks to sell its minority stake in Tata Play to Tata Group, Bloomberg reported Thursday, citing people familiar with the matter.

The stake could reportedly value Tata Play at $1 billion or more. The purchase could give Tata Group full control of the subscription television broadcaster.

There's no guarantee Tata will see the deal through, the report cautioned. Tata and Disney ( DIS ) declined to comment to Bloomberg.

Tata and Disney ( DIS ) did not immediately respond to requests for comment by MT Newswires.
