Nov 19, 2024 8:45 PM

06:33 AM EST, 11/18/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Warner Bros. Discovery ( WBD ) settled its breach of contract suit against the National Basketball Association through a deal that will also extend its content partnership with the league through at least the next 10 years, The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday, citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter.

The report said Warner Bros. sued NBA in July after the basketball league signed new rights deals with Amazon.com (AMZN), Walt Disney's ( DIS ) ESPN ( DIS ) and Comcast's ( CMCSA ) NBCUniversal.

Sources told WSJ that the settlement deal is expected to be announced next week and be effective for 11 years, starting 2025.

According to the sources, this deal will give the company rights to a substantial amount of NBA content globally and to develop new shows using the content.

Warner Bros. and NBA did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' requests for comments.
