06:15 AM EDT, 10/17/2025 (MT Newswires) -- The White House plans to extend tariff relief for the US auto industry, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing people familiar with the matter.
The report said the Commerce Department is expected to announce a five-year extension of reduced tariffs on imported car parts, which were previously set to expire after two years.
Bloomberg said the decision could come by Friday, noting the move would be a big win for carmakers like GM (GM), Ford (F), and Stellantis.
The Commerce Department did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
