Sep 15, 2025 6:23 PM

03:01 PM EDT, 09/15/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Woodside Energy Group ( WDS ) forecasts a 50% rise in global liquefied natural gas demand over the next decade, CEO Meg O'Neill said at the groundbreaking of a $17.5 billion Louisiana export facility, Reuters reported Monday.

According to the report, the company's first US LNG project in Louisiana is set to start exports in 2029 to Europe and Asia, with its first phase expected to produce 16.5 million metric tons annually.

O'Neill dismissed TotalEnergies' (TTE) concerns about a possible supply glut, emphasizing that "the market is there" and expressing long-term confidence in LNG demand, Reuters said.

Woodside Energy Group ( WDS ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
