02:33 PM EST, 02/18/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Woodside Energy Group ( WDS ) is in discussions with several potential buyers for equity stakes in its liquefied natural gas plant in Louisiana, Reuters reported Tuesday, citing multiple sources.

All seven sources that Reuters consulted said that Tokyo Gas held talks with Woodside, while several identified Japan power generation company JERA and MidOcean Energy as being in discussions for potential stake acquisitions, according to the report.

One source mentioned Williams Companies ( WMB ) as being involved in the talks, the report said.

Woodside is also seeking higher prices for gas contracts, according to three sources.

Tokyo Gas, JERA, and MidOcean Energy declined to comment, while Woodside repeated its previous comment about the project attracting strong interest from potential partners, Reuters said.

Woodside did not reply to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
