03:10 PM EST, 12/16/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Chinese automakers XPeng ( XPEV ) and Li Auto ( LI ) have been granted licenses to test their respective level 3 autonomous driving technologies in designated urban areas, South China Morning Post said Tuesday, citing industry officials with knowledge of the matter.

The report said that XPeng ( XPEV ) will be allowed to conduct tests in its home base of Guangzhou, while Li Auto ( LI ) will be allowed to do its testing in certain designated areas of Beijing.

XPeng ( XPEV ) and Li Auto ( LI ) did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
