Brands ( YUM ) is testing generative artificial intelligence in the SuperApp mobile application that Pizza Hut and KFC ( YUM ) restaurant managers use as the company looks to leverage the technology in its operations, The Wall Street Journal reported Monday, citing the company's chief digital and technology officer.
According to the report, Yum declined to disclose its technology spending, but Joe Park was quoted as saying in an interview that AI can be applied in all aspects of the company's restaurants.
Park reportedly said Yum aims to upgrade SuperApp with features that will allow franchisees to order ingredients and schedule shifts through the mobile app. Park was quoted as saying the company is also testing AI its drive-throughs.
Yum did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
