Marti Technologies Says Turkey Now Requires Ride-Hailing Drivers Pay Income Taxes as Corporate Entities

08:35 AM EDT, 08/19/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Marti Technologies ( MRT ) said Monday a ruling by Turkey's Department of Revenue Management within its Ministrty of Treasury and Finance will require ride-hailing drivers to establish corporate entitites to pay income taxes on the revenue they earn on its app.

Marti said the ruling now enables the company to collect and transmit information regarding rides completed, income earned, and the resulting tax obligations of its ride-hailing drivers to the ministry.

Marti Technologies ( MRT ) said the ruling "is a positive step towards clarifying the legality of ride-hailing driver income."

To assist drivers in complying with the new ruling, Marti is offering legal guidance and financial support for setting up the necessary corporate entities.
