05:45 PM EDT, 06/24/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Martin Midstream Partners ( MMLP ) said late Monday it is working with the US Environmental Protection Agency, Arkansas Department of Energy and Environment, and Arkansas Game and Fish Commission to respond to a spill of about 2,000 barrels of crude oil.
The spill originated from the company's transfer pipeline that connects its Sandyland Terminal to the Smackover Refinery in Union County, Arkansas. The company said it became aware of the spill June 15.
Clean-up efforts have recovered nearly 1,250 barrels of crude oil as of Sunday, Martin Midstream ( MMLP ) said.
The company's shares were down 2.1% in after-hours activity.
