09:46 AM EDT, 06/26/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Masimo ( MASI ) investor Politan Capital Management urged other shareholders Wednesday to vote for two Politan nominees to the board, saying the company needs a majority of "truly independent" directors to safeguard shareholder value.

Politan Capital, which has a 9% stake in Masimo ( MASI ), has nominated former Agilent Technologies (A) Chief Technology Officer Darlene Solomon and former Stryker (SYK) Chief Financial Officer William Jellison, Politan founder Quentin Koffey said in a letter to Masimo ( MASI ) shareholders.

Koffey and another Politan nominee, Michelle Brennan, were elected to Masimo's ( MASI ) board last year.

Masimo ( MASI ) didn't immediately respond to a request for comment from MT Newswires.
