Mastercard Launches Payment Passkey Service Globally, Starting with India Pilot

07:09 AM EDT, 08/29/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Mastercard ( MA ) said on Thursday that it launched its new Payment Passkey Service globally, starting with a pilot in India.

The company said it would partner with major payment players such as Juspay, Razorpay, PayU, BigBasket, and Axis Bank.

Payment passkeys use biometric authentication methods like fingerprints or facial scans designed to simplify and secure online shopping.

After the initial pilot in India, Mastercard ( MA ) would expand its payment passkey service to more consumers and financial institutions globally in the coming months.
