10:29 AM EDT, 09/02/2025 (MT Newswires) -- McDonald's (MCD) said Tuesday its "Extra Value Meals" will return to its menus in the US on Monday.

The eight Extra Value Meals, which include the $5 sausage McMuffin with egg meal, will save customers 15% compared with individual entree, fries and drinks purchases, the company said.

McDonald's Chief Executive Chris Kempczinski told CNBC that lower and middle-income consumers are currently "feeling under a lot of pressure."

"Reengaging the low-income consumer is critical," the CEO said in an interview with CNBC.
