05:27 PM EDT, 08/05/2025 (MT Newswires) -- MDA Space ( MDALF ) announced after the market close on Tuesday that it has secured two contracts to equip Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) ships with up to six new uncrewed aircraft systems.
The new systems are part of the broader intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance uncrewed aircraft systems (ISTAR UAS) project, where the new systems will significantly enhance the RCN's abilities to detect and monitor potential threats.
The contracts are valued at C$39 million for the initial procurement of two uncrewed aircraft systems with an option to procure four extra systems as well as an in-service support contract valued at C$27 million over an initial five-year period to maintain operations.
Furthermore, the in-service support contract includes the possibility to extend and sustain services for up to 20 years.
