07:14 AM EST, 11/03/2025 (MT Newswires) -- MDA Space ( MDALF ) said Monday that it agreed to invest C$10 million in Maritime Launch Services, which is developing Canada's first commercial orbital launch complex called Spaceport Nova Scotia.
Spaceport Nova Scotia aims to provide satellite delivery services by allowing launch vehicles to place their satellites into low-earth orbit.
Under the terms, the investment price totaled $0.223 per share, MDA said.
"In a rapidly changing space industry, establishing sovereign launch capacity in Canada that will respond to the global demand for alternate launch capabilities on Canada's Atlantic coast is important," MDA chief executive officer Mike Greenley said. "This is an example of strategically located critical infrastructure that is needed."
MDA's share price closed 5.4% lower on Friday to $27.38 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
