MDA Space Workers Ratify a New Collective Agreement, Ending a Nine-Week Strike
Jun 6, 2024 2:28 PM

05:12 PM EDT, 06/06/2024 (MT Newswires) -- MDA Space ( MDALF ) workers on Thursday said they ratified a new three-year collective agreement with the company, ending a nine-week strike.

Members of Unifor Local 112, which represents 673 employees, said the new agreement increases wages by a minimum of 9% with quarterly cost-of-living increases up to a maximum of $0.80 per hour. They will also receive back pay from October, 2023, when their previous agreement expired.

"I am proud of the determination our members showed, fighting for their rights on the picket line for nine long weeks to achieve a strong collective agreement at MDA Space ( MDALF ). Thanks to the support of Unifor members throughout the GTA and the tenacity of our bargaining team, we have made significant improvements that ensure a better future for all," Unifor National President Lana Payne said in a release.

MDA shares closed down $0.09 to $12.05 on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
