SAO PAULO, May 9 (Reuters) - Brazilian meatpacker
Minerva has agreed to pay 22 million reais ($3.90
million) to settle a case related to the payment of "undue
advantages" to agricultural inspectors, the local solicitor
general's office said on Friday.
Minerva, South America's largest beef exporter, confirmed
the deal in a securities filing, saying it cooperated with
authorities and that no damage to the public purse nor
advantages earned by the company have been verified.
The case is related to
operations launched
by federal police in 2017.
