The company said the networks responsible for its corporate IT systems, and its products and manufacturing and distribution operations, are separate.

Medtronic ( MDT ) said that after identifying the attack, it immediately took steps to contain the incident, activated the incident response protocols and engaged cybersecurity experts to support the investigation and remediation efforts.

The company said it is working to identify any personal information that may have been accessed by the unauthorized party.
