Oct 30 (Reuters) - MEG Energy ( MEGEF ) paused the
shareholder meeting to vote on the Cenovus Energy ( CVE )
takeover bid on Thursday, to address a "regulatory inquiry" it
received on Wednesday evening.
Board chair James McFarland said there would be a recess and
the meeting would now be held at 4:00 p.m. ET, which was earlier
scheduled for 11:00 a.m. ET.
The details of the inquiry were not provided. MEG, Cenovus
and the regulators did not immediately respond to Reuters'
requests for comment.
