MercadoLibre lays off 119 people due to its AI expansion, Folha reports

SAO PAULO, Jan 12 (Reuters) - E-commerce firm

MercadoLibre ( MELI ), ‌which operates across ‍Latin America, ⁠laid

off ⁠119 people ‌in a move related ⁠to ‍its artificial intelligence

expansion, Brazilian newspaper Folha ‍de S. Paulo said.

The layoffs ‍included 38 people in Brazil, MercadoLibre's ( MELI )

largest market, Folha reported.
