BERLIN, April 30 (Reuters) - Mercedes-Benz is
in talks with representatives of the administration of President
Donald Trump regarding expansion in the United States, the
German carmaker's chief executive said on Wednesday.
CEO Ola Kaellenius said the talks - on whether such
investments would be good for the U.S. as well as for the
company's business model - were taking place in a constructive
atmosphere.
However, adjustments cannot take place overnight and instead
require several years, he told investors after the company
reported a plunge in its first-quarter profit and pulled
full-year guidance amid turmoil over Trump's tariff policies.
