Merck ( MRK ) said in May it would acquire EyeBio for a $1.3 billion upfront payment and up to $1.7 billion in future milestone payments for a potential value of $3 billion

Merck ( MRK ) said it will record a charge of about $1.3 billion, or $0.50 per share, in Q3, to be included in non-GAAP results.

Shares of Merck ( MRK ) were up 0.6% in Friday premarket activity.
