04:41 AM EDT, 09/17/2024 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) and EssilorLuxottica said Tuesday they have expanded their partnership by entering a long-term agreement to develop smart eyewear products.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

The two companies have been collaborating on Ray-Ban branded smart eyeglasses since 2019.

"We have the opportunity to turn glasses into the next major technology platform, and make it fashionable in the process," said Mark Zuckerberg, founder and chief executive of Meta.
