Meta Platforms Facing Copyright Infringement Suit Filed by French Authors, Publishers

07:54 AM EDT, 03/12/2025 (MT Newswires) -- Meta Platforms ( META ) is facing a lawsuit filed by a group of French publishers and authors over the tech company's alleged copyright infringement, according to a Wednesday statement.

The complaint was filed by writers' union SNAC, authors' association SGDL, and publishers trade association SNE in a Paris court. In the lawsuit, the group accused Meta of unlawfully using copyrighted materials to train its generative artificial intelligence model.

Meta did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
